Interesting read – I wasn’t aware of “The Social Gospel in American Religion” as a specific branch of Christianity. I like this much better than the other type of White Christian nationalism that I don’t feel at all comfortable with. Personally, I have been struggling with my Christian identity because of all the extremist noise out there, but I do think that I can identify with the social gospel that I always felt but couldn’t find a way to express. This is much more like “What Would Jesus Do” as a basis for my actions and beliefs.
